Empty Nest

As some of you may know, I am a nurse, which automatically makes me a caretaker. I love taking care of people and I especially love taking care of my children. Actually, they are not children anymore, they are 25 and 28 year old men. Yesterday our youngest son moved into his very own apartment. I want to clean the apartment, buy him food and furniture, and call him every two hours. I will not do any of those things because I am trying to learn how to be a good parent from a pair of eagles. I have watched them successfully raise 13 eaglets. They do it with a combination of love, tenderness, and discipline. I have watched as they encourage independence and self sufficiency.


Being a parent isn't always easy. Sometimes we get exasperated and need to shout!


It is important to let them fly. This is the only way that they can grow and learn.




And one day they will find love and become parents and raise their young with the same love that was shown to them.


We call this "The love nest". The children can visit...
